Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Neonatology Nurse Practitioner for a 36-day locum tenens assignment in Maryland. Starting Jan 5, 2026, this opportunity involves 6-8 twelve-hour shifts per month, with a mix of day and night coverage in a NICU at an academic institution. Candidates must have at least 2 years of NICU experience and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with no procedural training provided.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide advanced practice care to neonates in a NICU environment
  • Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections
  • Manage NICU patients in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows, and other advanced practice providers
  • Participate in a team-based model: days, nights
  • Coordinate with full subspecialty support
  • Complete EMR documentation using Epic
  • Adhere to all institutional protocols and evidence-based NICU guidelines


Additional Information

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Maryland
  • Neonatology board certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required
  • Assignment does not include transport responsibilities
  • Must be able to work independently without procedural training
