Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for a 36-week locum tenens assignment in Tennessee. This opportunity begins on Apr 1, 2026, and offers a flexible schedule with options for 12- or 24-hour shifts, working 40 hours per week or more within a NICU open seven days a week. The assignment involves comprehensive care for neonatal patients recovering from surgery as well as growers and feeders, under physician direction.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide total patient management for neonatal patients under physician supervision
  • Care for infants with post-surgical needs as well as growers and feeders
  • Monitor and manage patients throughout average stays of 21-28 days before transfer to home hospitals
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Participate in resuscitation and advanced life support as required


Additional Information

  • At least 3 years of NICU experience required
  • Must have Neonatal Nurse Practitioner board certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
  • Current licensure required in Tennessee (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Seeking candidates willing to work 40 hours per week or more; overtime not covered
