Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Neonatologist for a locum tenens assignment in California starting Dec 8, 2025. This position offers a 100-day contract with 12-hour day or night shifts in a NICU, utilizing a 7on/7off ongoing schedule. The role involves attending high-risk deliveries and working closely with the NICU team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide in-house coverage for a NICU
  • Attend high-risk deliveries (approximately 350 deliveries per year)
  • Collaborate with the NICU team for the management of critically ill neonates
  • Perform intubations and place PICC/umbilical lines (certification required)
  • Participate in occasional ambulance transport as needed
  • Deliver care consistent with NICU standards
  • Cover either day or night shifts according to the assignment
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation


Additional Information

  • NICU experience required
  • Board certification in Neonatology required
  • Must hold a valid California medical license
  • Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Candidates who are comfortable with ambulance transport are highly preferred
