We are seeking a Neurological Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 42-day locum tenens assignment in South Dakota, starting Feb 2, 2026. This role features a 7on/7off schedule with 12-hour shifts, offering day or night options. The assignment is at an ACS verified facility, focusing on head and spine patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with on-call surgeons and provide first assist in operations and procedures
  • Respond to inpatient consult requests and round on service patients
  • Assist in follow-up clinics for post-operative care
  • Manage patients with head and spine conditions
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation


Additional Information

  • Neuro experience required
  • Active South Dakota NP license, DEA, and CSC required
  • Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification required
  • Board certifications required: Neurological Surgery; Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC)
  • Must be available for flexible 7on/7off scheduling
