Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Neurological Surgery Physician Assistant for a 168-day locum tenens assignment in New Mexico, beginning Sep 8, 2025. This critical role involves night shifts from 6 PM to 6 AM, following a 7on7off schedule, where you will handle a mix of adult and occasional pediatric cases in a dynamic surgical setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive care to adult and pediatric patients under the supervision of neurosurgeons
  • Manage initial patient assessments, pre-operative, and post-operative care
  • Participate in complex neurological surgeries and provide follow-up evaluations
  • Ensure continuity of care through detailed documentation in the Powerchart EMR system
  • Maintain compliance with critical care, neurological surgery, and neurocritical care board certifications


Additional Information

  • Required certifications: Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Must possess a New Mexico PA license
  • Previous experience in Trauma centers required
