Job Description

We are seeking a Neurological Surgery Physician Assistant for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in New Mexico. This role commences on Oct 25, 2025, with a 24-week assignment at a Trauma Center, operating on a 7on7off schedule, primarily from 6 PM to 6 AM. The position requires managing both adult and pediatric patients, focusing predominantly on adult cases with occasional pediatric encounters.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive care for adult and pediatric patients within a trauma setting.
  • Support neurological surgeries and related procedures.
  • Manage patient care from admission to discharge, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Document patient interactions and treatments in the Powerchart EMR system.


Additional Information

  • Required board certifications: Neurological Surgery; Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC)
  • Other certifications: Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS); Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Must hold a valid New Mexico license as a Physician Assistant.
