Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified Neurosurgeon for a 56-day locum tenens assignment in Missouri, starting Apr 1, 2026. This opportunity involves 7-10 days per month with 24-hour call coverage one weekend each month, focusing on a broad range of neurological surgery cases at a trauma facility. Candidates must hold a Missouri license or qualify via the IMLC, with ATLS and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform general neurosurgery procedures
  • Conduct cerebrovascular procedures, including carotid or vertebral artery surgery and aneurysm clipping
  • Manage brain tumor and neuroendocrine surgery cases
  • Provide stereotactic radiosurgery and functional neurosurgical interventions
  • Treat seizure disorders, perform VP shunt placements, and skull base surgeries
  • Conduct spinal surgery with or without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
  • Perform peripheral nerve surgery and pain procedures
  • Complete endovascular procedures and placement of ICP monitors
  • Apply external traction and manage ventilator and central line placements


Additional Information

  • Missouri license or eligibility via IMLC required
  • Board certification in Neurological Surgery required; fellowship training preferred
  • ATLS and PALS certifications required
  • Trauma; PEDs
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
