We are seeking a board-certified Neurosurgeon for an 8-day locum tenens emergency call assignment at a Trauma Center in Ohio. Starting Jan 23, 2026, this role involves 24-hour call coverage focused on spinal and cranial emergencies, with varied call volume and low weekly case counts.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 24-hour emergency call coverage for spinal and cranial cases
  • Respond to urgent neurosurgical consults and emergencies as needed
  • Perform surgical interventions for spinal and cranial trauma
  • Tumor removal is a plus but not required
  • Collaborate with rounding RN and PA support staff during weekday hours
  • Monitor and round on 10–12 patients daily for ongoing care and post-operative follow-up
  • Submit 24 case logs from the past 24 months as part of credentialing


Additional Information

  • Must have active Ohio medical license
  • Board certification in Neurological Surgery required
  • Experience in both spinal and cranial procedures necessary
  • Emergency call only; no scheduled elective cases
  • Low volume: 0–6 cases per week
  • Support staff offer minimal assistance during weekdays due to clinic responsibilities
