Job Description

Our client in California is seeking an Obstetrics/Gynecology Nurse Practitioner for a 35-day assignment beginning Jun 8, 2026. This role involves comprehensive patient care across both outpatient and inpatient settings, focusing on gynecologic services such as contraceptive counseling, menopause management, and various screenings, alongside supporting laboring patients and managing high-risk obstetric cases during overnight shifts.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage a broad range of gynecologic cases, including complex gynecology
  • Provide contraceptive counseling and contraceptive care
  • Perform and interpret endometrial biopsies (EMBs)
  • Evaluate and manage abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Provide menopause management and counseling
  • Perform routine cervical cancer screening, including Pap smears
  • Manage a patient census of approximately 5–8 patients
  • Care for laboring patients and support spontaneous vaginal deliveries
  • Provide care for a high-risk obstetric population
  • Manage patients with elevated BMI and obstetric complications such as preeclampsia
  • Participate actively in labor management and delivery care
  • Collaborate closely with the care team and work side-by-side with supervising physicians and clinical staff
  • Conduct annual well-woman exams
  • Perform preventive gynecologic visits
  • Conduct breast health screening visits
  • Perform menopause wellness visits
  • Provide contraceptive counseling
  • Perform IUD insertion and removal
  • Perform Nexplanon insertion and removal
  • Provide emergency contraception counseling
  • Deliver Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Care
  • Manage Menstrual & Hormonal Concerns
  • Perform endometrial biopsy
  • Perform vulvar biopsy
  • Perform removal of cervical polyps
  • Manage Bartholin cyst (non-surgical)
  • Perform incision & drainage of small abscesses
