Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled OB/GYN Physician for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in Mississippi. This 48-day assignment offers flexible 12-hour shifts, with an initial focus on night shifts, starting on date 08/01/2025. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing deliveries (including high-risk), rounding on newborn nursery during day shifts, mentoring residents, conducting GYN consults, performing some GYN surgeries including C-sections and ectopic procedures (excluding hysterectomies). This role presents an excellent opportunity for a dedicated OB laborist to contribute their expertise in a dynamic hospital environment, with the potential for a 6-month or 1-year agreement.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform deliveries, including high-risk cases

• Conduct rounds on newborn nursery during day shifts

• Mentor and supervise residents

• Provide GYN consultations

• Perform GYN surgeries, including C-sections and ectopic procedures

• Manage obstetric emergencies

• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Epic EHR system

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

• Stay current with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology practices


Additional Information:

• Mississippi state medical license required

• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology

• Experience with Epic EHR system is beneficial

• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, including nights

• Strong teaching and mentoring skills for resident education

• Ability to handle high-risk obstetric cases

• Potential for extended assignment (6 months to 1 year)
