Job Description

Our client in North Carolina is seeking an Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 17-day assignment starting Mar 2, 2026. This role involves 24-hour shifts from 8A-8A, where the physician will round on patients, provide on-call coverage for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries, and manage emergent gynecological procedures. The position requires expertise in a wide range of obstetrical and gynecological procedures to ensure comprehensive patient care within a nursery setting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Round on patients, managing an average of 1-3 deliveries per 24-hour period.
  • Provide on-call coverage for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
  • Manage any emergent gynecological procedures.
  • Perform required procedures including low risk pregnancy care, FHR interpretation, OB Ultrasounds, routine deliveries (vaginal, low forceps), and complicated deliveries (breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs).
  • Conduct repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.
  • Handle office/minor gynecology and surgical gynecology (open, laparoscopic diagnostic/minor, operative/major).
  • Oversee patient cases, contributing to an average of 27 deliveries and 11 C-sections monthly.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.
  • The EMR system used is Meditech EHR.
