Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 3-day assignment in North Carolina, starting May 5, 2026. This role involves 24-hour call shifts after daily rounding, focusing on emergent C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and various emergent GYN procedures.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Round on patients daily.
  • Provide on-call coverage for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
  • Perform emergent gynecological procedures as needed.
  • Manage low risk pregnancies and perform OB ultrasounds (performance and interpretation).
  • Conduct routine vaginal deliveries and low forceps deliveries.
  • Make decisions for C-section interventions.
  • Handle complicated deliveries including C-sections, breech presentations, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs.
  • Repair 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.
  • Perform office/minor gynecology procedures such as IUD insertions, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP.
  • Conduct surgical gynecology, including open and laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures like tubal ligations, lysis of adhesions, and chromotubation.
  • Perform operative/major procedures for ectopic pregnancies, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive lysis of adhesions.
  • Maintain laser certification.
  • Anticipate an average of 27 deliveries monthly with about 11 C-sections, typically 1-3 deliveries per 24-hour period.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology required.
  • EMR System: Meditech EHR
  • Schedule: 24-hour call post rounding
