Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 14-day locum tenens assignment starting Jun 1, 2026, in North Carolina. This role involves rounding on patients, managing emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries, and being available for emergent GYN procedures. The schedule will include on-call responsibilities.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Round on patients.
  • Provide on-call coverage for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
  • Be available for emergent GYN procedures.
  • Handle low-risk pregnancies and routine deliveries (vaginal, low forceps).
  • Perform decision-making for C-sections.
  • Manage complicated deliveries, including breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs.
  • Perform repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.
  • Conduct office and minor gynecology procedures (IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP).
  • Perform surgical gynecology (Open, Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor, Operative/major).
  • Address emergent high-risk deliveries.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology is required.
  • Experience with Meditech EHR system.
  • Laser certification is required.
  • The facility averages 27 deliveries monthly, with approximately 11 C-sections, and typically manages 1-3 deliveries per 24-hour period.
