Job Description

Our client in North Carolina is seeking a skilled Physician specializing in Obstetrics/Gynecology for a 7-day assignment starting Jul 6, 2026. This role involves rounding on patients and being on-call for emergent C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and various emergent GYN procedures, contributing to a vital healthcare team.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Round on patients.
  • Provide on-call coverage for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
  • Perform emergent GYN procedures.
  • Manage low risk pregnancies.
  • Perform and interpret OB Ultrasounds.
  • Conduct routine deliveries including vaginal and low forceps, with decision-making for C-sections.
  • Handle complicated deliveries such as C-sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs.
  • Perform repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.
  • Conduct office/minor gynecology procedures including IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP.
  • Perform surgical gynecology procedures, both open and laparoscopic (diagnostic/minor only for tubal ligation, LOAs, chronal tubation; operative/major for ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs).
  • Maintain laser certification.
  • Handle an average of 27 deliveries monthly, with approximately 11 C-sections.
  • Manage a typical census of 1-3 deliveries per 24-hour period.
  • Transfer high-risk deliveries requiring NICU care to designated regional facilities, as there is no NICU at this facility.
