Locum Tenens Physician - OB/GYN Needed in TX

 We are seeking a skilled OB/GYN Physician for a 15-day locum tenens assignment in Texas, starting 05/19/2025. This opportunity involves providing 24-hour on-call coverage at a trauma hospital on specific dates in May and June. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing OB/GYN cases in a rural setting, including colposcopy, endometrial ablation, pelvic prolapse rehabilitation, routine cancer screenings, and sacrocolpopexy. The role requires stabilizing and transferring higher acuity cases, with an expected 1-2 callbacks per shift and a 30-minute response time. This position utilizes the Meditech EHR system and offers the possibility of extension beyond the initial assignment period.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide 24-hour on-call OB/GYN coverage

• Respond to callbacks within 30 minutes

• Perform various gynecological procedures including colposcopy and endometrial ablation

• Manage pelvic prolapse rehabilitation cases

• Conduct routine cervical and breast cancer screenings

• Perform sacrocolpopexy procedures as needed

• Stabilize and arrange transfer for higher acuity cases

• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using Meditech EHR

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

• Ensure patient safety and high-quality care at all times

Additional Information:

• Texas medical license required

• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology

• Experience in rural or low-resource healthcare settings preferred

• Comfort with managing a wide range of OB/GYN cases independently

• Ability to make quick decisions in emergency situations

• Flexibility to work 24-hour shifts on specified dates
