Job Description

We are seeking an Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant for a 2-day locum tenens assignment in Kansas beginning Dec 11, 2025. This role features full-day shifts from 7:00am to 5:00pm, working alongside a collaborative clinical team to perform NFPA 1582 physicals and related occupational health testing.

  • Schedule: 7:00am - 5:00pm; complete 1 exam every 15-20 minutes


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct NFPA 1582 physicals for fire fighters
  • Perform respirator and interim fire fighter clearance
  • Read EKGs, review ultrasound and stress test results
  • Complete clinical testing including hearing, vision, lab work, pulmonary function tests, cardiograms, and x-rays
  • Perform mandatory hernia exams and optional rectal exams
  • Collaborate with the PHS team to ensure high-quality patient care


Additional Information

  • Kansas licensure required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Fire fighter physical and occupational medicine experience strongly preferred
  • Must be able to read EKGs and review diagnostic test results
  • Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) accepted
