Schedule: 7:00am - 5:00pm with a lunch break; 1 exam every 15-20 minutes
Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct NFPA 1582 physical examinations for firefighters
Perform respirator clearance and interim firefighter clearance
Review EKGs, ultrasound results, and stress tests
Work alongside the team to perform clinical testing, including hearing, vision, laboratory tests, pulmonary function, cardiograms, and x-rays
Complete mandatory hernia examinations; rectal exams are optional
Ensure timely completion of exams (approximately one every 15 minutes)
Additional Information
Firefighter physical or occupational medicine experience strongly preferred
Must be able to read EKGs
Required certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must hold a valid Kansas medical license
Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) is listed as a required board certification
