Job Description

We are seeking a Doctor specializing in Occupational Medicine for a 2-day locum tenens assignment in Kansas. This opportunity starts on Dec 11, 2025, with day shifts from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The assignment involves conducting NFPA 1582 physicals, respirator clearance, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team performing a range of clinical tests.

  • Schedule: 7:00am - 5:00pm with a lunch break; 1 exam every 15-20 minutes

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Conduct NFPA 1582 physical examinations for firefighters
  • Perform respirator clearance and interim firefighter clearance
  • Review EKGs, ultrasound results, and stress tests
  • Work alongside the team to perform clinical testing, including hearing, vision, laboratory tests, pulmonary function, cardiograms, and x-rays
  • Complete mandatory hernia examinations; rectal exams are optional
  • Ensure timely completion of exams (approximately one every 15 minutes)

Additional Information
  • Firefighter physical or occupational medicine experience strongly preferred
  • Must be able to read EKGs
  • Required certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Must hold a valid Kansas medical license
  • Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) is listed as a required board certification
