Locum Tenens Physician - Ophthalmologist Needed in MI

Job Description

We are seeking an Ophthalmologist for a locum tenens assignment in Michigan starting Feb 2, 2026. This 90-day opportunity involves a preferred schedule of up to 6 months’ availability, ideally 2 weeks per month, with at least one surgical day per week and additional clinic days. You will provide care to trauma level 4 patients, performing both surgical and non-surgical ophthalmology procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform surgical procedures including cataract removal and phacoemulsification
• Conduct intra-ocular injections
• Interpret and perform ultrasound imaging (A and B-Scan)
• Interpret photos and optical coherence tomography results
• Deliver non-surgical and LASER ophthalmology procedures
• Manage patient care in a trauma level 4 setting with eye lanes available
• Provide comprehensive ophthalmologic care during assigned shifts

Additional Information

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Michigan
• Board certification in Ophthalmology required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Strong clinical proficiency in both surgical and non-surgical ophthalmology procedures
