We are seeking an Optometrist for a unique locum tenens opportunity in California, providing eye care within a correctional facility. This part-time position starts on Sep 17, 2025, and spans approximately 26 weeks. Work hours are from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility in days, requiring 15-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work alongside correctional officers and medical staff to examine, diagnose, and treat vision problems and eye diseases.

  • Travel between different jails throughout the county as needed.

Additional Information
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications required.
  • Must hold a valid California Optometry license.
  • Experience in corrections not required, but candidates should be prepared for a unique clinical environment.
