We are seeking an Optometrist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment with our client in California, starting Feb 17, 2026. This full-time opportunity offers a Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm schedule, focused on providing exams, annual check-ups, and vision care in a diverse clinical environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and yearly check-ups
  • Diagnose and treat vision conditions
  • Manage a patient population that is approximately 75 percent Spanish speaking, with access to translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants
  • Serve a patient base with 78 percent Medical/Medicaid coverage

Additional Information
  • Minimum 1 year of recent optometry experience required; candidates with recent employment gaps will not be considered
  • Active California DEA and Furnishing license required
  • Board certification in Optometry required
  • Locum and FQHC/Rural Health/IHS experience is favorable
  • Experience with Epic EMR is preferred
  • Providers should confirm any anticipated time off prior to submission
