Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant for a 65-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Oct 6, 2025. This full-time position features a Monday through Friday schedule with primary responsibilities in surgical assist for hips, knees, and dislocations, plus one clinic day per week. The ideal candidate will have recent, consistent orthopedic experience and be comfortable collaborating with orthopedic surgeons in both operating room and clinic settings.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide surgical assist for orthopedic procedures, including hips, knees, and dislocations, 3-4 days per week
  • Conduct patient evaluations and manage follow-up in a clinic setting 1 day per week
  • Collaborate with orthopedic physicians and healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR system
  • Comply with all safety protocols and standards of care

Additional Information
  • Must have recent and consistent orthopedic experience within the past 12-24 months
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP-BC) required
  • Active California license required
