Locum Tenens Physician Assistant - Surgery - Orthopedic Needed in NY

Job Description

Our client in New York is actively seeking an Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join their team for an 80-day assignment starting May 1, 2026. In this role, you will manage inpatient and OR cases, performing critical procedures like total knee, shoulder, and hip replacements across both day and night shifts, working autonomously with physician support.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform total knee replacement (TKR), shoulder replacement, and hip replacement procedures.
• Provide patient care in both inpatient and operating room settings.
• Manage an adult patient demographic (18+).
• Work autonomously with a supervising physician present in the OR and available via phone for floor call.
• Utilize advanced orthopedic surgical experience; new graduates will not be considered.

• Required Board Certifications: Orthopaedic Surgery
• EMR System: Epic
• Shift Schedule: Day shifts (0700-1700) and night shifts (1700-0700)
• Requires prior orthopedic surgical experience
