Job Description

 Experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant needed for a locum tenens assignment in California. This 120-day opportunity, starting 06/09/2025, involves working at a multi-specialty clinic providing both outpatient and inpatient care. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with clinic cases including pre-operative and post-operative care, as well as inpatient rounding. This role offers the potential for extension and requires an active California PA license. Preference will be given to candidates who can commit to 4 weeks per month.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations

• Perform inpatient rounding Monday through Friday

• Assist in orthopedic procedures as needed

• Manage and treat orthopedic conditions in clinic setting

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies

• Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice

• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals

• Provide patient education on orthopedic conditions and treatments

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Cerner EMR

• Participate in care coordination and discharge planning for inpatients

• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in California

• Strong preference for candidates able to commit to 4 weeks per month

• Experience in orthopedics required

• Proficiency with Cerner EMR system preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient settings

• Potential for assignment extension
