Job Description

 Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Otolaryngologist/ENT Surgeon for a locum tenens position in Alaska. This comprehensive opportunity offers coverage starting 08/04/2025, for an initial contract of 140 days. The assignment involves working Monday through Thursday in the clinic from 8 AM to 4 PM, with Fridays dedicated to surgical procedures in the operating room. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing a wide range of ENT conditions and performing various procedures, including tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, thyroidectomies, and facial plastic surgeries. This role may also include approximately two weeks of shared city call during the contract period. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a skilled ENT surgeon to contribute their expertise in a dynamic healthcare setting while enjoying the flexibility of locum tenens work.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions
  • Perform surgical procedures including tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, and thyroidectomies
  • Conduct uvulopalatopharyngoplasties and facial plastic surgeries
  • Manage cases of ear infections, throat infections, and tonsillitis
  • Evaluate and treat thyroid problems and related symptoms
  • Screen for and manage throat cancer, oral cancer, and mouth cancer
  • Address persistent cough and deviated septum cases
  • Provide both clinical consultations and surgical interventions
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Participate in shared city call rotation (approximately 2 weeks during the contract period)
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures


Additional Information:

  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in Alaska
  • Board certification in Otolaryngology required
  • Experience in both clinical and surgical ENT practice preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in both clinic and operating room settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
