We are seeking a skilled Pathologist for a locum tenens position at a Laboratory/Diagnostic Center in Alabama. This 100-day assignment offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no call or weekend duties, starting on date 06/23/2025. The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with subspecialty training in surgical pathology. Experience in gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology is preferred, as well as fellowships in surgical pathology, cytology, or gastrointestinal pathology. The pathologist will work on-site in the hospital, handling a mix of small and large cases, including GYN, GI, GU, kidney, prostate, and bladder specimens. Responsibilities include performing frozen sections and occasional grossing, with support from lab assistants and occasional Pathology Assistants.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Perform comprehensive pathological examinations and diagnoses
• Handle a diverse range of specimens, including GYN, GI, GU, kidney, prostate, and bladder
• Conduct frozen section analyses
• Perform occasional grossing of specimens
• Provide expertise in surgical pathology
• Interpret cytology specimens, both gynecologic and non-gynecologic
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical conferences as needed
• Maintain accurate and detailed pathology reports using Epic and WindowPath systems
• Supervise and work alongside lab assistants and Pathology Assistants
• Adhere to all laboratory policies and procedures
• Contribute to quality assurance and improvement initiatives
• Stay current with advancements in pathology and laboratory medicine
Additional Information:
• Alabama state medical license required
• Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology mandatory
• Subspecialty training or fellowship in surgical pathology preferred
• Experience in gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology is beneficial
• Familiarity with Epic and WindowPath systems is advantageous
