This opportunity offers coverage starting 08/04/2025, for an initial contract of 40 days, with the potential for extension. The assignment involves working 1-2 weeks per month, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a minimum commitment of one week per month. The ideal candidate will focus on surgical pathology, signing out 30-35 small biopsies and approximately 5 benign resections daily. Responsibilities include interpreting pathology specimens, providing diagnoses, and collaborating with the permanent staff who handle malignant resections and frozen sections. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a skilled Pathologist to contribute their expertise in a dynamic healthcare setting while enjoying the flexibility of locum tenens work.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform surgical pathology examinations and diagnoses
- Sign out 30-35 small biopsies per day
- Evaluate approximately 5 benign resections daily
- Interpret pathology specimens and provide accurate diagnoses
- Collaborate with permanent staff on complex cases
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records using Epic EHR system
- Ensure high-quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in any necessary staff meetings or consultations
- Communicate findings effectively with clinical teams
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in pathology
Additional Information:
- Must be licensed to practice medicine in Connecticut
- Board certification in Anatomic Pathology required
- Experience in surgical pathology essential
- Familiarity with Epic EHR system is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
