Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Pathologist Physician for a 120-day assignment in Hawaii, starting May 11, 2026. The incoming physician will work on-site, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no call or weekend responsibilities. Your duties will involve performing frozen sections, signing out surgical pathology, non-gynecological cytology, and peripheral smears, and conducting autopsies while collaborating with clinical laboratory personnel.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform frozen sections.
- Sign out surgical pathology, non-gynecological cytology, and peripheral smears.
- Perform autopsies.
- Collaborate with clinical laboratory personnel to ensure high-quality laboratory services using best practices in laboratory medicine.
- Support laboratory and hospital quality improvement and accreditation initiatives.
- Provide consultations to clinicians.
Additional Information
- Board certified in AP/CP.
- Strong surgical pathology and cytopathology skills.
- Clinical lab experience OR experience as a Medical Director of a lab section.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years post-residency experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills for frequent interaction with physicians, hospital administration, and laboratory staff.
- MD or DO degree.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Hawaii.
- Epic EMR system utilized.
