Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in Texas. This 36-day assignment begins on 09/08/2025, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and a step-down acute care cardiology unit. The work schedule includes weekday shifts from 7 AM to 8 PM and weekend shifts from 8 AM to 9 PM, with 1.5 FTE coverage available. Responsibilities include managing pre and post-operative care for congenital and acquired heart disease patients, as well as medical management in the only heart transplant center in the region.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide critical care to pediatric patients in CICU and step-down unit

• Manage pre and post-operative care for congenital and acquired heart disease patients

• Assist in medical management of complex cardiac cases

• Participate in heart transplant care

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care

• Utilize Epic EMR for patient management and record-keeping

• Maintain a high standard of patient care and satisfaction

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

• Adapt to varying shift schedules including days, nights, and weekends

• Contribute to the 1.5 FTE coverage needed in the units


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Texas

• Proficiency in Epic EMR required

• Experience in pediatric cardiac critical care preferred

• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
