Job Description

We are actively seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 32-day assignment in Texas, starting Aug 3, 2026. This role involves managing a 1.5 FTE schedule, providing comprehensive coverage for a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. The practitioner will deliver expert care for patients with congenital and acquired heart disease in both pre- and post-operative periods, as well as those requiring medical management for heart failure, including ventricular assist device placement and heart transplantation. Shifts are scheduled M-F 7A/8P and weekends 8A-9P.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 1.5 FTE coverage within a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and its step-down acute care cardiology unit.
  • Manage congenital and acquired heart disease patients during their pre- and post-operative phases.
  • Deliver comprehensive medical management for a complex patient population.
  • Contribute to patient care within the region's only heart transplant program, including those requiring ventricular assist device placement and heart transplantation.
