We are seeking a Pediatric Dentist for a 12-week locum tenens assignment in Virginia, starting Oct 20, 2025. Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide full scope pediatric dental care, including exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, pulp therapy, extractions, crowns, and emergency procedures
- Deliver preventive services and educate families on oral hygiene, diet, and home care
- Manage behavior, sedation, and care for special needs patients in accordance with Virginia regulations
- Develop treatment plans, obtain consent, and communicate clearly with parents and caregivers
- Collaborate with hygienists, assistants, and staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Refer patients to orthodontics, oral surgery, or other specialists when appropriate
- Maintain accurate records and comply with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and practice protocols
- Create a positive, child-friendly environment that minimizes anxiety and builds trust
- Support practice standards, community reputation, and occasional outreach efforts
Additional Information
- Active Virginia dental license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Pediatric dental experience required; general dentists with pediatric experience will be considered
- Proficiency with Dentrix EMR system preferred
