We are seeking a Pediatric Dentist for a 12-week locum tenens assignment in Virginia, starting Oct 20, 2025. The Pediatric Dentist will provide comprehensive pediatric dental care, working collaboratively with a dedicated team to ensure quality patient experiences. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide full scope pediatric dental care, including exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, pulp therapy, extractions, crowns, and emergency procedures
  • Deliver preventive services and educate families on oral hygiene, diet, and home care
  • Manage behavior, sedation, and care for special needs patients in accordance with Virginia regulations
  • Develop treatment plans, obtain consent, and communicate clearly with parents and caregivers
  • Collaborate with hygienists, assistants, and staff to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Refer patients to orthodontics, oral surgery, or other specialists when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and practice protocols
  • Create a positive, child-friendly environment that minimizes anxiety and builds trust
  • Support practice standards, community reputation, and occasional outreach efforts

Additional Information
  • Active Virginia dental license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Pediatric dental experience required; general dentists with pediatric experience will be considered
  • Proficiency with Dentrix EMR system preferred
