Job Description

Our client in California is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist Physician for a 42-day assignment starting May 1, 2026. This role involves 12-hour shifts with potential for 24-hour shifts, focusing on ER consults, rounding on acute pediatric patients, providing NICU coverage, and managing emergency C-sections. The physician will provide care for common acute illnesses and chronic condition exacerbations, maintaining low patient volumes and remaining on call after morning rounds.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide ER consults.
  • Attend and admit pediatric patients.
  • Perform rounds on the acute patient floor.
  • Offer NICU coverage.
  • Assist with Emergency C-Sections; preference for Circs.
  • Manage common acute illnesses, chronic condition exacerbations, and post-operative care.
  • Perform morning rounds, then remain on call for the rest of the day.
  • Respond to calls within 30 minutes.
  • Maintain a low patient volume, typically averaging two patients in NICU and two to three on the patient floor.


Additional Information

  • Board Certification in Pediatrics required.
  • EMR: Meditech EHR.
  • PALS required.
  • Shift hours are typically 12-hour, with 24-hour shifts possible.
