Job Description

We are seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist Physician for a 5-day assignment in California, starting Mar 12, 2026. This role involves 24-hour shifts from 6 am to 6 am, encompassing rounding with 24-hour call. Responsibilities include managing a robust nursery, attending high-risk deliveries, and stabilizing complex pediatric and neonatal cases for transfer.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide rounding coverage with 24-hour call.
  • Attend high-risk deliveries, typically 2-3 per week.
  • Manage a robust nursery, including 3-5 normal newborns and 1-3 high-risk newborns on average.
  • Demonstrate strong delivery room skills, NRP certification, airway management, and the ability to perform emergency umbilical lines in L&D and the NICU.
  • Stabilize cases for transport, considering potential weather delays and hospital proximity.
  • Admit uncomplicated and stable pediatric patients, serving as the primary pediatrician available for consult.
  • Manage common pediatric conditions such as dehydration, pneumonia, and asthma.
  • Provide respiratory support, stabilize, and manage neonates for transport, including those with gestational ages down to 32 weeks, primarily transferring to Oakland and Santa Rosa.
