Job Description

We are seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist for a 3-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina, starting Dec 24, 2025. This opportunity involves 24-hour ED call shifts and making rounds, with an average census of 5 patients. The assignment is ideal for board-certified physicians experienced in pediatric hospital medicine who are comfortable providing both emergency and inpatient care.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 24-hour emergency department call coverage for pediatric cases
  • Conduct daily rounds on pediatric inpatients (average census of 5 patients; some beds may be used for overflow)
  • Respond to admissions and manage inpatient care as needed
  • Collaborate closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care


Additional Information

  • Active North Carolina medical license required
  • Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • Previous experience with both ED call and inpatient pediatric care strongly preferred
