Job Description

Our client is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist to join their team in New York for an 8-day assignment commencing Apr 3, 2026. This vital role primarily involves comprehensive newborn nursery coverage, including day shifts with night and weekend call responsibilities, focusing on essential newborn care and resuscitation within a low-volume delivery setting.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide coverage for the newborn nursery Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4 pm, with additional night and weekend nursery call responsibilities.
  • Manage a low delivery volume environment, averaging approximately 360 deliveries per year.
  • Handle very low patient volume, as evidenced by only 18 patient transfers in total in 2023.
  • Perform newborn resuscitation, including intubations, umbilical catheterization, and vent management.
  • Maintain current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Attend deliveries only if specifically requested by the OB team, which is a rare occurrence.
