Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct psychiatric evaluations for new adult patients (16+)
Provide medication management and follow-up care for stable to moderate psychiatric conditions
Collaborate with therapists, LCSWs, and LMFTs to coordinate behavioral health support
Work closely with primary care providers to ensure integrated medical and psychiatric management
Review active cases monthly with the supervising psychiatrist to maintain clinical oversight
Maintain detailed electronic health record documentation for all telehealth encounters in compliance with regulatory and billing requirements
Diagnose and manage conditions such as major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, adjustment disorders, PTSD (mild to moderate), bipolar II (stable, non-acute), insomnia, ADHD, mild neurocognitive symptoms (non-dementia), substance use disorder (in remission or stable), and outpatient-appropriate personality disorders
Complete comprehensive psychiatric intakes, diagnostic assessments, and periodic reassessments
Initiate, titrate, and monitor psychotropic medications
Review and interpret labs as clinically indicated
Develop and document individualized treatment plans
Participate in monthly psychiatrist case reviews for quality assurance
Refer and link patients to higher levels of care when clinically indicated
Additional Information
Must hold an active California nurse practitioner license
Board certification is not required for this assignment
Pediatric cases under 16 years and severe psychiatric conditions are excluded from this setting
No inpatient or emergency psychiatric responsibilities
