Job Description

We are seeking a Psychiatry Physician Assistant for a 35-day assignment with our client in South Carolina, starting May 18, 2026. This role involves daily shifts from 8:45am to 5:15pm, focusing on comprehensive patient evaluations, medication management, and close collaboration with counseling teams to provide essential psychiatric care.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Complete admission evaluations within 72 hours of patient admission
  • Conduct initial evaluations, typically lasting 1 to 1.5 hours
  • Perform daily follow-up evaluations, typically 5 to 30 minutes
  • Manage approximately 2 to 6 admissions and 2 to 6 discharges per day
  • Provide PHP consultations, totaling roughly 40 touch points weekly
  • Oversee medication management, including initiating, titrating, and tapering psychotropic medications
  • Document all charting and notation within the EMR system
  • Collaborate effectively with counseling teams


Additional Information

  • Required Board Certifications: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification (PMHNP-BC)
  • Cases include: Psychotic Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorder, Substance Use/Dual Diagnosis, Personality Disorders, Suicidal/Homicidal Ideation, Trauma-Related Disorders, Cognitive Impairment / Dementia with Behavioral Issues
