Job Description

 We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position in California. This opportunity offers a 48-day assignment starting on 06/02/2025, at a Multi-Specialty Clinic. The schedule begins as part-time, 2-3 days a week from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the potential to transition to full-time. The ideal candidate will be comfortable treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, substance use disorders, and child/adolescent behavioral issues. Additional areas of focus include grief and loss, domestic violence recovery, cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, and anger management. Familiarity with Nextgen EMR is preferred.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for diverse patient populations

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of mental health conditions

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as needed

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

• Offer therapy and counseling services as appropriate

• Utilize Nextgen EMR for patient documentation and management

• Adapt to potential transition from part-time to full-time schedule

• Demonstrate cultural competence in addressing diverse patient needs

• Stay current with best practices in psychiatric care


Additional Information:

• Board certification in Psychiatry required
