We are seeking a Psychiatrist for a 65-day locum tenens assignment in California. This role commences on Sep 17, 2025, offering day shifts from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm. The successful candidate will be pivotal in managing and overseeing mental health programs within correctional facilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain clinical responsibility for mental health programs within the facility.
• Oversee mental health screenings and evaluations.
• Conduct sick call and chronic care visits.
• Perform rounds in all units.
• Formulate diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and modify therapeutic regimens.
• Coordinate and lead educational training on mental health care.
• Provide medication management and therapy.
• Respond to acute mental health crises.
• Support patient rehabilitation and community reintegration.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.

Additional Information

• Board certification in Psychiatry required.
• Experience in corrections preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
