Locum Tenens Physician - Psychiatrist Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens assignment in California, providing psychiatric oversight to both FQHC and skilled nursing facility cases. This 6-month contract begins on Oct 1, 2025, and involves monthly chart reviews performed on your own time, with availability for business hours calls and quarterly reviews. The position offers a flexible schedule within standard business hours (8am-5pm PST) and the opportunity to collaborate with an expanding team of PMHNPs.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Review and oversee psychiatric cases for FQHC and skilled nursing facility patients
• Collaborate with and review 10 percent of charts for PMHNPs on staff (currently 2, expanding to 4)
• Conduct quarterly performance reviews for PMHNPs
• Be available for consultation and support via phone during business hours as needed
• Utilize eClinicalWorks for documentation and chart review

Additional Information

• Must have an active California medical license
• CAQH, NPDB, PECOS, MEDICARE, and MEDICAL credentials required
• Experience in both FQHC and skilled nursing facility settings is preferred
