We are seeking a Psychiatrist for a locum tenens assignment with our client in California, starting Feb 16, 2026, for a 200-day term. This opportunity features a Monday through Friday schedule with 8:30am to 5pm day shifts, primarily telehealth-based, with onsite presence required one week every two months. The ideal candidate will have experience prescribing medications for individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use, and should be comfortable working with transitional age youth (18-25), geriatric, and some conserved clients in a community mental health setting.

Responsibilities and Duties
Provide psychiatric care to patients with serious mental illness, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders
Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses
Conduct consults and follow-up visits (approximately five new patient exams per month, each one hour; follow-ups are 30 minutes)
Interact with a multidisciplinary team as part of a full service partnership
Deliver care to transitional age youth (18-25), geriatric patients, and some conserved clients
Participate in both telehealth and periodic onsite clinical activities
Additional Information
Must be comfortable with medication management for a seriously mentally ill population
Previous community mental health experience preferred
Experience with transitional age youth and geriatric patients strongly encouraged
