Locum Tenens Physician - Psychiatrist Needed in CA

Job Description

We are seeking a Psychiatrist for a 40-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Mar 16, 2026. The Physician will be responsible for adult acute inpatient psychiatry, managing a caseload of 12-15 patients per day, including admissions, discharges, and follow-up rounds, with a schedule of 8:00am-5:00pm. This role also involves attending court for 5150 proceedings as the hospital's witness.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide adult acute inpatient psychiatry care.
• Manage community 5150 or voluntary patient populations.
• Conduct general psychiatry rounds.
• Handle a caseload of 12-15 patients daily.
• Perform 2-4 admissions and discharges per day.
• Conduct follow-up rounds on general units and, at times, forensic units.
• Attend court for 5150 proceedings as the hospital's witness.
