Job Description

Our client in California is seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in Psychiatry for a 240-day assignment starting Apr 27, 2026. This role involves providing essential telehealth services where patients attend onsite, managing a schedule of 8:30am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Key responsibilities include conducting patient consults and follow-ups, engaging with a multidisciplinary team, and caring for individuals with complex serious mental health conditions, often with dual diagnoses and experiences of homelessness.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide telehealth services where patients attend onsite from the facility.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team interaction.
  • Participate in a full service partnership model.
  • Be available for onsite work one week every two months.
  • Conduct consults and follow-up appointments; new patient exams are rare (approximately 5 per month, 1 hour each), with follow-ups lasting 30 minutes.
  • Manage patient documentation, with time built into the schedule.
  • Treat patients with serious mental health conditions, including psychotic disorders, and support impaired and impoverished individuals.
  • Care for a patient population with dual diagnoses (often involving meth or marijuana), trauma, and experiences of homelessness, facing serious mental illness.
  • Ensure all patient notes are completed on the same day.
