We are seeking an experienced Psychiatrist for a 45-day locum tenens assignment in Missouri, starting Dec 15, 2025. This full-time opportunity offers a 40-hour workweek with no weekends or holidays required, and the option to work four 10-hour shifts. Responsibilities and Duties
Carry an average caseload of 40 inpatient psychiatric patients (across 2 wards), seen at least monthly and as needed
Complete patient visits and documentation, including monthly summaries, interim notes as needed, annual assessments, and notes on admission and discharge
Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions, including prescribing medications, delivering therapy, and making referrals or consultations as required
Participate in weekly treatment team meetings with multidisciplinary staff (nursing, psychology, social work, pharmacy, recreation, primary care, and dietary staff)
Additional Information
Must be licensed to practice in Missouri
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification required
Board certification in Psychiatry required
Inpatient psychiatric experience is mandatory; forensic experience preferred
A physician is on site 24/7 for medical and psychiatric needs
