Job Description

We are seeking a licensed Psychologist for a 52-day locum tenens assignment in Arizona, starting on Oct 13, 2025. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with options for 5x 8-hour shifts or 4x 10-hour shifts, typically from 6:30am to 4:30pm. The Psychologist will play a key clinical leadership role in correctional mental health care, overseeing mental health programs and participating directly in patient care and staff education.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Maintain overall clinical responsibility for the mental health programs within the facility
  • Oversee the completion of mental health screenings and evaluations
  • Perform sick call visits and chronic care visits
  • Conduct rounds in all units
  • Formulate a working diagnosis, develop and implement treatment plans, and evaluate or modify therapeutic regimens to promote positive patient outcomes
  • Coordinate, lead, and participate in educational training activities related to mental health care

Additional Information
  • Experience in corrections preferred, but not required
  • Must hold an active Arizona license
  • Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Start date is dependent on completion of required documentation and Department of Corrections clearance
