Responsibilities and Duties
Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs)
Develop behavior plans and educate unit staff on behavioral interventions
Attend psychology and multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
Conduct psychological assessments, including WAIS and tests of attention, memory, language, and executive functions, with no more than one evaluation per day
Split responsibilities evenly between testing and therapy
Run 1-2 group therapy sessions as part of the group program
Manage a caseload with counseling sessions of 30-40 minutes and group sessions of 50-60 minutes
Collaborate with medical, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, and psychology staff to support patient treatment goals
Additional Information
Ph.D. or Psy.D. with experience in psychiatric or medical settings required
Background in neuropsychology preferred
Experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) desired
Must be licensed to practice in Rhode Island
Patient population includes adults with major mental health illness, dementia, distal muscular dystrophy, and traumatic brain injury
