Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Physician specializing in Radiation Oncology for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Kansas. This assignment covers two periods: August 2-17, 2025, and December 20, 2025 - January 4, 2026. The schedule includes weekday clinic hours from 8am to 5pm, weeknight on-call, and weekend on-call duties. The ideal candidate will be proficient in IMRT, SBRT, and SRS treatments using the Trilogy system and Varian's TrueBeam Linear Accelerator. Experience with OSMS imaging, six degrees of table rotation, and brachytherapy is required. You will be treating a wide range of cancers including breast, lung, prostate, head and neck, GI, urologic, skin, hematologic, gynecologic, sarcomas, and brain tumors. Responsibilities include treatment visits, daily treatments, and emergency consults.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conduct radiation therapy treatments using IMRT, SBRT, and SRS techniques

• Operate Trilogy system and Varian's TrueBeam Linear Accelerator

• Utilize OSMS imaging and six degrees of table rotation

• Perform brachytherapy procedures as needed

• Treat various types of cancers including breast, lung, prostate, head and neck, GI, urologic, skin, hematologic, gynecologic, sarcomas, and brain tumors

• Manage treatment visits and daily treatments

• Handle emergency consults

• Use Aria, Eclipse, Meditech EHR, and iKnowMed systems for patient management

• Collaborate with oncology team and other healthcare professionals

• Provide patient education on radiation therapy and treatment plans

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

• Participate in on-call rotations as required


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Kansas

• Experience with Aria, Eclipse, Meditech EHR, and iKnowMed is preferred

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment

• Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach required

• Flexibility to handle on-call duties and potential off-hours work

• Possibility of assignment extension
