Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Thoracic Physician Assistant for a 40-day locum tenens assignment in California, starting Nov 10, 2025. This opportunity offers a Monday to Friday schedule, 7am-5pm, with one weekend per month. Join a thoracic-only surgery center focused on lung and chest cases, assisting with pre- and post-operative patient management.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Round on 4-10 thoracic patients per day
  • Manage chest tubes, including removal (placement experience is a plus but not required)
  • Cover the thoracic floor for pre- and post-operative thoracic cases
  • Provide inpatient rounding and consults for thoracic patients
  • Support surgeons and residents while they are in the OR
  • Participate in thoracic cases in a thoracic-only surgery center
  • Utilize Epic EMR (experience with Epic is a plus)
  • Apply robotic (DaVinci) experience if available

Additional Information
  • Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in California
  • Robotic and thoracic surgery experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in the operating room is a plus
  • No requirement for placing arterial lines, central lines, or other invasive lines
  • Chest tube placement skills are a bonus (training available if needed)
