We are seeking an experienced Surgery - Trauma Physician Assistant for a 36-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This opportunity starts Jan 5, 2026, and requires availability for 5 to 10 shifts per month, with coverage for both day and night 12-hour shifts. The role focuses on trauma care, requiring advanced procedural skills and proficiency with Cerner EMR.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform advanced trauma life support procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency with tube thoracostomy and central venous catheter placement; arterial line placement preferred
  • Manage acute surgical and trauma cases in collaboration with the surgical team
  • Provide comprehensive patient care in accordance with ATLS protocols
  • Accurately document clinical findings and care in Cerner EMR
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant board and state requirements

Additional Information
  • Active NC license and board certification in Surgery required
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and DEA certification required
  • No new graduates; prior trauma experience expected
