Job Description

We are seeking a Surgery - Trauma Physician Assistant for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Feb 1, 2026. This opportunity features 12-hour inpatient shifts, 8-10 per month, covering both trauma and emergency general surgery at a Trauma Center.

  • Schedule: Inpatient coverage Monday through Sunday; 12-hour shifts (7a-7p days and 7p-7a nights); 8-10 shifts per month; no call required


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform central line placement, chest tube placement, incision and drainage procedures, laceration repairs, and wound debridement
  • Provide inpatient coverage for Trauma and Emergency General Surgery services
  • Participate in morning rounds and first assist in the operating room
  • Evaluate and manage new emergency general surgery consults
  • Manage the inpatient service, including trauma activations and critical care management
  • Treat typical cases such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, trauma exploratory laparotomy, colon resections, Graham patch repairs, and hernia repairs


Additional Information

  • Must have active Physician Assistant licensure in Pennsylvania
  • Board certified status required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • DEA and CSR licenses required
  • Certifications required: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
  • IMLC not accepted
  • No bariatric or foregut cases
