Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Trauma Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in California. This assignment begins on Mar 4, 2026, spans 40 days, and features 24-hour in-house shifts rotating between trauma and acute care surgery at a Trauma Center. Candidates must be comfortable supervising residents and managing a mix of trauma and general surgery cases.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide in-house trauma care and acute care surgery coverage
  • Manage trauma and general surgery cases during assigned shifts
  • Rotate between in-house trauma and ACS shifts as scheduled
  • Respond within 15 minutes when on 24-hour trauma shifts
  • Supervise residents throughout assigned shifts


Additional Information

  • California medical license required
  • Board certification in General Surgery required
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification required
  • Must be comfortable with both trauma and general surgery cases
  • Previous Trauma Center experience strongly preferred
